Rossmann pulls Bio.Teen Cosmetics after complaints about overtly sexual references on pack

THE WHAT? Germany’s Rossmann drugstore chain has pulled a line of personal care products aimed at teens from its shelves in Poland after receiving complaints from customers over the sexual references on pack, according to a report published by Notes from Poland.

THE DETAILS The products are emblazoned with phrases such as ‘make me wet’ and ‘sleep with me’, which journalist Karolina Liczbinska highlighted on social media, per Notes from Poland.

THE WHY? Critics argue that beauty products aimed at children should not use explicit sexual language, while the brand’s CEO counters that ‘the topic of sex should not be stigmatised’. Clearly, Rossmann is on the side of the former.
