LVMH HQ caught up in French pension protests

THE WHAT? Protestors stormed LVMH’s headquarters last week, according to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, as objections to Macron’s pension reforms transformed into a wider protest against the French establishment.

THE DETAILS A spokesperson for the luxury conglomerate told The Wall Street Journal that the incursion was short-lived.

THE WHY? Macron’s controversial pension reform has led to charges that he is protecting the interests of the rich at the expense of the poor. Arnault’s vast fortune has not escaped the attention of the working class in France with protestors carrying signs emblazoned with slogans such as ‘there is money in the pockets of billionaires’.
