THE WHAT? Coty-owned Gucci has launched a new fragrance named Where My Heart Beats, which is reported to be the first globally distributed fragrance manufactured using alcohol from 100 percent recycled carbon emissions.
THE DETAILS The scent uses the CarbonSmart alcohol from Coty’s partner LanzaTech, with the technology process capturing carbon from industrial emissions and transforming it into alcohol for use in fine fragrances.
THE WHY? The innovation is a key development in the company’s Beauty That Lasts sustainability strategy, and follows wider Coty fragrance sustainability innovations.
Coty Chief Scientific & Sustainability Officer, Dr. Shimei Fan, said: “This is an inspiring example for sustainability being the ultimate driver of innovation.”
